3 Championship Matches Announced For WWE Royal Rumble 2016

The US, Divas, and Tag Team Championships will be on the line this Sunday.

During Monday's WWE RAW broadcast, the go-home show for this Sunday's Royal Rumble, three new championship matches were officially announced for the PPV. Though the matches had been widely speculated, this was the first time that WWE has confirmed them for the Royal Rumble. Following a match in which Becky Lynch defeated Tamina, Lynch challenged Charlotte for a Divas Championship bout at the Rumble. Though Charlotte was quick to initially deny Lynch the shot, Becky then brought Charlotte's father, Ric Flair, into the conversation. Lynch spoke about how Ric didn't back down from a challenge during his career and prompted him to accept the championship challenge on behalf of his daughter. It was also announced that Alberto Del Rio will put his U.S. Championship on the line against Kalisto at the Rumble in Orlando. Last week during RAW, Kalisto won the title, only to lose it right back to Del Rio on Thursday's edition of Smackdown. The two will engage for the third time in a rubber match for the belt this Sunday. Lastly, WWE confirmed that The New Day will put their tag team championships on the line against The Usos at the Royal Rumble. The match was announced during a bout between Jey Uso and Big E during RAW.
