3 Ups & 0 Downs From Last Night's WWE 205 Live (Sep 11)

3. Onwards To Super Show-Down

Buddy Murphy has had a career resurgence since moving up from NXT to join the rest of the cruiserweights, putting on numerous matches that have been praised for their quality. That tradition from the Australian standout is what's made him one of the premier members of the 205 Live roster.

He faced off with Cruiserweight Classic finalist Gran Metalik on this week's episode, adding another entry to his neverending list of excellent performances. Murphy kicked out of a Metalik Driver during the bout and eventually put one third of the Lucha House Party away with a Murphy's Law. This victory has set him up nicely ahead of his second opportunity to take the Cruiserweight Championship away from Cedric Alexander at next month's Super Show-Down special in Australia.

If Cedric manages to retain against Drew Gulak next week, there is a slight chance that Murphy may actually win the title seeing as it would be in his home nation. Either he or Gulak would both make for fantastic successors to Alexander.
