"Deciding Factor" In Kazuchika Okada Signing With AEW Over WWE REVEALED

Why did 'The Rainmaker' choose to become All Elite?

Working with The Elite was a "deciding factor" in Kazuchika Okada choosing AEW over WWE.

That's according to a recent report from SI's Justin Barrasso, with it being noted how, after talking with sources close to AEW and NJPW, it was clear 'The Rainmaker' felt he would be given the best chance to succeed in Tony Khan's promotion.

The report also states that Okada arriving in WWE was a "real consideration" for the star - the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion loved the idea of being a part of WrestleMania - but the fact he wouldn't be made to relocate, could keep on living in Japan if he liked, and the idea of working with his pals The Young Bucks and continuing his epic rivalry with Kenny Omega all influenced his decision to become All Elite.

Sports Illustrated also explained how the robes the AEW EVPs wore before Sting's last match at Revolution were Okada-inspired, with that custom-made piece of foreshadowing being created after Okada became a free agent in the hopes he would eventually choose to work with TK's organisation.

Also, while all of the parties involved - Okada, Omega, The Bucks, and Khan - agreed that 'The Rainmaker's All Elite run should begin with him as a heel, it was said that it was actually originally the AEW President's idea to make him a villain.

The report explained that Okada completely trusts his new boss, too, after signing a big money, multiple-year deal with the company.

Fans won't have to wait too long to see the new version of The Elite in the wake of Okada shockingly joining forces with Nicholas and Matthew Jackson, and Omega and 'Hangman' Adam Page being booted from the faction - the unit will make their in-ring debut tonight on Collision.
