5 Reasons CM Punk Will Struggle In UFC

It's not fake fighting, after all

CM Punk has officially signed with the UFC, and it's the biggest news the MMA world has had all year. That tells you something - fake fighters making the transition to real fighting are still a bigger story than homegrown stars. It's a concern the company will have to address at some point, but for now, the promotion can breathe a huge sigh of relief: they've added instant star power and a PPV draw to their roster at a time when PPV buyrates are at their lowest point in years.

That doesn't mean it'll be all fun and games for CM Punk, however. The world of MMA is extremely different from that of the UFC. Injuries are a concern, and you have to be in top physical form - beyond that, however, the "sports" - we use quotations in the case of pro wrestling only, though we get that practitioners are real athletes - couldn't be more different.

CM Punk has a shot at success - Brock Lesnar became the UFC's longest reigning heavyweight champ, and Bobby Lashley has done well for himself as well - but it's not easy task.

Lets take a look at why CM Punk might no have such a successful run in the UFC when all is said and done. Here are five reasons, with all apologies to the former WWE star.
