6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 12)

6. Shoehorning Women Into One Segment

Remember during the “divas revolution” how WWE would have two women’s matches or major segments during Raw? There were plenty of talented women filling out the roster and WWE seemed committed to investing in the women’s division.

Fast-forward to today, where the women still get more serious consideration than they did a few years ago, but there has been a noticeable drop-off in quality since the brand split. And then on Monday, we saw WWE cram six women in the division into one segment on Raw, with Alexa Bliss coming out to rant about having to defend her title, only for five women to rebut her.

That led to a six-woman tag match, which Bliss later walked out on, which on its own would be an “up” (the heel champ living to fight another day), but this doesn’t feel quite right. At the same time, at least WWE is trying to get more women into the mix, so this only gets a small “down” for the crammed, throw-everything-at-the-wall mentality.
