6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 20)
New title flops, Brock intimidates, Lynch rebounds, Shane sets sights on Reigns.
Money in the Bank is officially in the rear-view mirror, and the lasting effects of it seem to be that Brock Lesnar is back in our lives once again. Six weeks away – and six weeks of falling ratings – was all it took to bring the Ultimate Part-Timer back into the fold.
Brock “worked” Money in the Bank and then showed up again on Raw Monday night, threatening to cash in his newly won briefcase and drawing both world champs into a squabble. Given the circumstances, this went about as well as can be expected, but it’s also painful to see knowing that there’s a good chance one of WWE’s world titles is going to disappear from television again in the name of increasing ratings.
(Someone is going to have to explain that at some point: How the hell does having a champ who’s never on TV help ratings?)
Also on Monday night, we got a double dose of Shane McMahon, because if Stephanie McMahon isn’t emasculating the male talent, then Super Shane needs to be beating them up and devaluing them in the ring.
And WWE debuted a new title Monday night… and it went over like free rides on the new Hindenburg.
On the plus side, The Revival wrestled, Becky Lynch rebounded, and Cesaro strategized. So it wasn’t all negative, not at all.
