6 WWE Divas That Never Held The Title

Over the the years the WWE Women€™s and Divas Championships have seemed more like doorknobs than title belts: everybody gets a turn. Despite decent reign lengths for Divas (like AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, and Beth Phoenix) and multiple time winners (like Trish Stratus, Mickie James and Lita), if you€™re a female on the roster for an extended period of time you usually wind up with gold. WWE's interest in the women's division has always been up and down. The WWE Women's Championship was integral in the Rock n' Wrestling Connection but the title was soon deactivated. It was brought back in the early nineties only to fizzle out again after just a few years. In the late nineties it came back strong and lasted almost exactly a dozen years to the day. The Divas Title was created in 2008 for two purposes, one: to let the Smackdown brand have a title for women and two: to highlight the shift in tone of how the women's division, and the women themselves, were viewed. With the Raw and Smackdown brand blurred and only one title needed, the Women's Championship merged into the Divas Championship. Both titles have had a variety of holders and while at first thought it might seem like every prominent woman in WWE has been champion, that just isn't the case. The following list takes a look at 6 women of WWE that never held either the Women's Championship or the Divas Championship, whether they deserved to, and why they might not have been given the honor. Honorable Mention: Jillian Hall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSmOlK79Bgc Although technically Jillian won the WWE Divas Championship in 2009 she only held the title for less than five minutes. Jillian, who inexplicably came into the WWE with an hideous growth on her face was also inexplicably underused in the Divas division. Despite being one of the better female wrestlers on the roster she was played more for laughs after being given the "Tone Deaf Diva" gimmick which was part play off Britney Spears and part rumored jab at Brooke Hogan. Most of her prominent feuds revolved around her bad singing, music, or jealousy issues instead of chasing a title so she never really got a fair shake. When she finally did win the title, defeating Mickie James on Raw, she lost it immediately to Melina making the whole thing more of a segment and Jillian simply a transition champion. Despite hanging around WWE for five years this short-lived win was the only time Jillian got close to gold.
