7 Reasons Asuka Should Be Moving To WWE SmackDown Live

Asuka is heading to the main roster, but she is going to the wrong show.

After dominating NXT like no superstar has before, Asuka’s time in developmental is over. The 'Empress of Tomorrow' has relinquished the NXT Women’s Championship, and she will now take her undefeated streak to the main roster. It was confirmed last week that Asuka will be appearing on WWE’s flagship, RAW. Is this the right move?

General Managers Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan were in competition for Asuka’s signature, and it was the Olympic Hero who emerged successful. Many assumed that the longest reigning champion in NXT history was going to end up on SmackDown Live, so her move to the red brand is something of a surprise.

Time will ultimately tell whether or not WWE has made a mistake in deciding to move Asuka to RAW over SmackDown, but the initial feeling is that it may come back to haunt the company. A move to SmackDown seemed to make the most sense for all involved, for a whole host of reasons.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
