7 Shawn Michaels WWE Dream Matches We Could Still See

On a recent edition of Ric Flair's Woo Nation podcast, The Nature Boy revealed that WWE had tried to convince Michaels to make an in-ring appearance at the Royal Rumble, possibly as a way to set up a match at WrestleMania 32. Obviously, Michaels wasn't in the match, having nixed the idea and re-stating that he's retired for good. But the thought of Michaels once again stepping foot in a WWE ring raised some familiar questions, many of which inevitably began with 'what if...'. What if Shawn Michaels came out of retirement and wrestled a competitive match for the first time in six years? Last summer, Michaels revealed during one of his 'Evening With' Q&A shows that he had been approached about performing at the Grandaddy of Them All but had turned the opportunity down, citing the fact that he's done everything there is to do in the business. But has he? While Michaels' resume is second-to-none and he's a Hall of Famer ten times over, there are still possibilities for him in a WWE ring. In fact, on WWE's roster right now there are superstars old and new, young and old, that the Heartbreak Kid has never went toe-to-toe with. During the same Q&A show where he revealed his lack of 'Mania 32 participation, Michaels also noted that he still had plenty left in the tank.
