7 Surprises We Could See At WWE Survivor Series 2017

6. Paige's Return On Team SmackDown

Paige was expected to debut on the Raw go-home show, and was speculated to be joining the Raw women’s team for Survivor Series. Even though there was a clear opportunity in the form of a multi-woman matchup to determine the final team member, she didn't show up, so the win and the empty spot on the team both went to everybody’s favorite woman-child hybrid, Bayley. This led to speculation that Paige would instead fill the vacant slot on team SmackDown.

Paige's return seems even less likely on the SmackDown brand, as WWE has announced that Natalya will fill the last vacant Survivor Series slot for their women's team, which would mean that any hope of a Paige return may have been quashed. It's strange, though that WWE would fail to capitalize on the return of such a high profile Superstar. If they do decide to make a move, the most likely scenario being that they mimic last year's Survivor Series where Nikki Bella was replaced by Natalya after having been attacked prior to the match.

Does it seem more likely that WWE would punish Paige on her return due to social media pictures, or is it more likely that plans changed? If it’s the latter, it would mean ignoring the fact that Paige was drafted to Raw in the most recent brand split. That doesn’t seem like something that would stop WWE from making the change given the amount of time that has passed since she was last seen on WWE programming.
