7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 1991

3. The Undertaker Made His Royal Rumble Debut

The Undertaker made his WWE debut at Survivor Series 1990, which was two months prior to this event. He entered the match at #12, lasted 14:16 and eliminated three guys. It's a surprise that he didn't eliminate more guys. He was booked like such a dominant heel monster from the time he showed up that it's weird to see him standing out there for such a long time without tossing guys out. He should have cleared the ring and had a moment alone where he looked like the baddest man in wresting. Instead, he was just another guy. It would have been incredible to see him face to face with Andre the Giant. As mentioned in the 1990 Rumble things to know, Andre was scheduled for this show and had to pull out because of injuries.
He was eliminated by the Legion of Doom when they teamed up to hit a double clothesline that sent him out. It made sense to have two guys do it because that makes him look stronger.
