7 Wrestlers Who Were Blatant Knock-Offs

4. Asya Was A Transparent WCW Clone Of Chyna

Christi Wolf was a female bodybuilder who debuted as Ric Flair's burly nurse named "Double D," a play on Arn Anderson's "Double A" nickname, because WCW was kind of stupid in 1999.

Later in the year, she joined Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, and Chris Benoit in The Revolution, becoming the member we'd second-most like to forget. It was around this time that somebody remembered what a massive, industry-changing success Randy Hogan had been and decided that Wolf's character should be based on the WWF's Chyna. Chyna and Wolf had tons of similarities: they were both female bodybuilders, and that was literally it, but whatever. It was close enough for WCW.

Wolf was renamed Asya because - and this is absolutely true - Asia is bigger than China, so WCW hoped that fans would consider Asya superior to Chyna. They didn't, and Asya's placement with four of wrestling's best talents only accentuated her lack of experience. Her most notable WCW moment came in 2000, when she helped Madusa pour barbecue sauce on Oklahoma after he won the Cruiserweight Championship, because as stupid as WCW was in 1999, it was insanely, unbelievably stupid in 2000.
