8 Biggest Mysteries Surrounding WWE In 2016

As the new year begins, WWE is currently in the midst of an incredibly unpredictable phase. What on earth will happen next?

WWE fans love nothing more than predicting the future of the company, speculating on a regular basis about potential cards, feuds, signings and call-ups. However, this could prove tricky for 2016, as WWE happen to find themselves in a decidedly uncertain position - largely thanks to the recent slew of injures to big-name stars (including John Cena, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton). So many questions marks overshadow the current product, questions circling around matters as important as the card of WrestleMania 32 itself. 'Mania isn't the only source of mystery, though. Fans are also desperate for news regarding NXT call-ups, potential brand splits, and the future of women's wrestling. 2016 is shaping up to be a very testing year for WWE, one which will largely be defined by the success with which they answer these looming issues. These are the eight biggest mysteries surrounding WWE in 2016.

8. Who Will The Undertaker Face At WrestleMania?

Many had pegged John Cena as Undertaker's next (and potentially) final opponent for The Undertaker at WrestleMania, but the biggest babyface of his generation has recently been forced to undergo major shoulder surgery - and will reportedly miss the granddaddy of them all in April. So who on earth is left to face the Deadman? Only a handful of superstars have the star quality to face 'Taker, and none quite fit the bill. Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt have fought him too recently, Kane and Triple H have fought him too many times previously, and Roman Reigns is too concerned with the WWE Championship right now. A Sting/Undertaker showdown has long been a dream clash in the eyes of many, but the WCW icon - like Cena - is a big doubt due to injury. It'll certainly be very interesting to see what WWE do and who they put The Phenom in the ring with in his home state of Texas.
