8 Reasons Holly Holm Knocked Out Ronda Rousey At UFC 193

5. A Lack Of Legit Training Partners

Holly Holm trains with Jackson-Winklejohn MMA, one of the best mixed martial arts gyms on the planet (other notables would be American Top Team, TriStar, Team Alpha Male, etc.). One of her key training partners leading up to the Rousey fight was Jon Jones - the troubled former light heavyweight champion who is still one of the best fighters in the world. Jackson-Winklejohn is full of top names, including Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, Cub Swanson, Andrei Arlovski, Carlos Condit, John Dodson, and at one time, Georges St. Pierre. In short, they're a murder's row of champion caliber fighters. Meaning Holm has incredible training partners. Rousey has no such abundance of talent. Glendale Fighting Club, where she trains under Edmond Taverdyan, boasts the likes of Jake Ellenberger, Manny Gamburyan, and Kaitlin Young - nowhere near the same level as Jackson-Winklejohn's group. If Rousey wants to remain at the top, she needs to seek out a better team. TriStar would seem like a good fit.
