8 Times The Rock Proved He CAN Cut A Bad Promo
The Rock Says...some pretty lame stuff.
If you were to ask any sane person to list the top 5 greatest promo-cutters in the history of the WWE, every single one of them would put The Rock somewhere on that list.
Some may argue that Dwayne Johnson spent too much time on the microphone performing miniature comedy routines, and that he sometimes lacked the sheer energy of someone like Hulk Hogan or Stone Cold, but those people forget that when he got down to business, The Rock got down to business. (It just so happens you remember the jokes and one-liners more because...well, they were damn funny.)
The Rock was a natural on the mic and, during the Attitude Era - and possibly even more so in the Ruthless Aggression Era - he was just about unrivaled in the promo department. Simply put, the guy is usually unstoppable on the mic.
Usually being the key word there. Because even someone as routinely electrifying and hilarious on the mic was bound to have an off night or two. To expect someone to be totally flawless in that regard would be foolish. The fact is, The Rock was capable of bombing like anyone else and would occasionally remind the fans that he was indeed human. And sometimes just plain lame.
Let's take a look at some of The Great One's not-so-great moments on the mic.
