8 WWE Stars Sacrificed To Make Roman Reigns Look Strong
Make him look strong, dammit!
It has become something of a joke across the internet wrestling world, but it is a joke founded in truth. The Roman Reigns Mega Push World Tour 2014-16 may have ground to a halt somewhat, but you can't deny that during that time the Shield Prince was made to look extremely strong by all and sundry. He's strong I tell you, strong!
This all started after CM Punk appeared on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast in late 2014, and spoke of the still-ludicrous-to-think-about handicap match that saw Punk defeat all three members of The Shield. Punk won the match, but was told beforehand that despite being booked to beat three previously unbeatable warriors he was to make Roman look 'really really strong'.
Punk replied that three men beating one would probably be the best way to make them look strong, but the creative team were insistent that Punk was going over. From that conversation on, jokes about making Roman look 'strong' were told with increasing regularity and bite.
All joking aside, Reigns has pretty much been booked to look strong over the last couple of years. A number of top level guys have been put in his way only to get brushed aside, sacrificed to keep the chosen one looking as good as possible.
