9 New Directions For WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens

This past week on Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens shocked the world when he won the WWE Universal Championship. Or rather, Triple H shocked the world when he showed up from out of nowhere, hit the Pedigree on Roman Reigns, inflicted the same fate on his former crony Seth Rollins, before allowing Owens to slide in and pick up the spoils.

You could argue this wasn’t the way Owens might have hoped for his maiden world championship win to arrive, but it certainly made for an awesome moment.

Screwy finishes aside though, one thing’s for sure in that its shaken up the WWE landscape considerably, opening up a number of potential new directions in the process.

From possible new alliances to probable new feuds, as well as some likely WrestleMania meetings further down the line, this article delves into some of the avenues that the WWE could explore with Kevin Owens as Universal Champion.

I think it’s fair to say that based on the evidence we were offered on Raw, Kevin Owens is officially Triple H’s guy. Stephanie, meanwhile, has made no bones about the fact that Seth Rollins is her number one star, so presumably this means that the husband and wife are on a collision course, right?

You’d have thought so, but things get a little murky when we try to determine Triple H’s position in all of this. In real-life we know he’s essentially the heir to Vince McMahon’s throne, but where does he stand in the world of kayfabe?

Presumably he has more authority than the General Manager, but is he also above the Commissioner as well?

Whichever way the WWE opt to explain the situation, it seems very likely that we could be set for a power struggle on Raw; Triple H and his man, Kevin Owens, against the General Manager and the Commissioner. Whether Seth Rollins is still their "guy" though is rather less certain than it used to be...
