Spanish indie star A-Kid has officially signed for NXT UK.
WWE's local development brand confirmed his acquisition with a bombastic tease on Twitter:
The news does not come as a huge surprise; A-Kid was on hand for the brand's tapings at the start of this month, beating Kassius Ohno (albeit via countout) during the 5 October show. He had previously appeared on an episode of the show back in April, losing alongside Carlos Romo to Mark Coffey and Wolfgang.
Outside of NXT UK, A-Kid has been a regular in RevPro, and most recently competed at PWG's Battle of Los Angeles. He also worked a number of matches for Defiant, latterly of this parish.
Most notably, A-Kid's bout opposite Zack Sabre Jr. at last year's WWW: Total Rumble 8 in Madrid was awarded a cool five star rating by wrestling doyen Dave Meltzer. The future is bright for the kid A-Kid.
Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know).
He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
