In the grand history of sports, few injuries have been as simultaneously painful and as inconvenient as the broken tailbone. It’s quite literally a pain in the backside that limits mobility and robs you of your most useful resting spot. And it's to an area of the body that is evolutionarily redundant.

Just ask Jon Moxley about it.

The AEW star showed off his own tailbone injury on Twitter, flashing the merest hint of hardcore cheeks to reveal a dark purple blossom around the offending bone.

Quite when he actually injured it remains to be seen, but it's likely it was when he last wrestled. He obviously fought Brodie Lee at Double Or Nothing last weekend and though he was on Dynamite duty earlier this week, he was on commentary for Brian Cage's debut. He might also have done it in training or during a pre-taped Dynamite match for a forthcoming show. Given the nature of the injury - and the look of the bruising - you'd have to suspect it was quite recent.

Naturally, Renee Young shared his pain with a response...

He is - unfortunately for him - unlikely to miss any wrestling. Even though working with a broken arse probably isn't his idea of fun.
