AEW To Air On Wednesdays?
New trademark hints at mid-week launch.
We have a further hint of precisely when All Elite Wrestling will launch their prime-time TNT show this October, thanks to a new trademark filing unearthed by the folks at PWInsider.
The Wrestling Observer had previously reported that Cody and co. had registered the trademark 'Tuesday Night Dynamite'. The new filing cites 'Wednesday Night Dynamite' instead, and it's now looking more likely that the company is plotting a mid-week show.
There are obvious advantages to airing on a Wednesday night; such a slot would avoid direct competition against either WWE's Raw or SmackDown, whilst also working around TNT's current NBA schedule.
Of course, the trademark confirms nothing, and we won't know exact details about the big TV launch until they are officially announced.
Between the name and the station, AEW really are leaning as hard as possible into all the WCW nods, which, given the ultimate fate of the Atlanta organisation, might not be the best template to follow. Check back soon for news on a secondary show called, ooh, let's say 'Stormy Weather', to be headlined by Sasha Banks months after her exit buzz has cooled off.
