AJ Styles, Bullet Club Have "Curtain Call" Moment At ROH In Georgia

Styles reunited with his friends one last time before heading off to WWE.

Just a few hours before many expect to see him make a surprise appearance at the WWE Royal Rumble in Orlando, AJ Styles made his final appearance for Ring of Honor Wrestling in Augusta, Georgia on Saturday evening. Styles did not wrestle at the event, instead coming out to make a farewell to his ROH fans prior to his embarking on a run with WWE. https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/691078296558256128 Styles has spent the last couple of years as one of the biggest names on the global wrestling scene, outside of WWE. Following his departure from TNA in 2013, he became the IWGP Heavyweight Champion with New Japan Pro Wrestling while also pulling double duty wrestling for Ring Of Honor back in the United States. Styles has long been regarded as one of the top performers in the industry, but AJ really pushed his game to the next level over the last two years, winning the 2015 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Ric Flair/Lou Thesz Wrestler Of The Year Award. Just a couple of weeks ago at NJPW WrestleKingdom 10, Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura had a match for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship that will be in contention for match of the year in 2015. He has history in ROH dating back to the company's first year, 2002, and during his farewell segment, Styles was interrupted by both Jay Lethal and Roderick Strong. The segment ended with him giving the Styles Clash to "P-Dogg" Mike Posey. Concluding his final appearance with ROH, AJ and the rest of the Bullet Club had a "curtain call" moment, reminiscent of the "Kliq curtain call" in Madison Square Garden in 1996. Styles, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and the Young Bucks all united in mid-ring for a final ROH moment together. https://twitter.com/MattJackson13/status/691124641105100800 Now it's on to the WWE and the small matter of the Royal Rumble.
