If you thought that winning a world title at WrestleMania 40 and continuing a heated feud with CM Punk meant that Drew McIntyre has sewn up a WWE contract renewal, think again.

Despite being one of the centerpieces of WWE programming on Monday nights, the Scottish Warrior still has yet to re-sign with the company, according to Fightful Select. The outlet provided another update on McIntyre's contract status Monday, noting that his deal is set to expire before June. Previously, Fightful had reported that his contract was set to end before WrestleMania 40, but time was added on taking it beyond Mania.

Interestingly, Fightful noted that former WWE EVP of Talent Relations Dan Ventrelle, who was removed from his position last week, had only reached out to McIntyre about his contract last month, after McIntyre had been booked for his WrestleMania World Heavyweight Championship match and begun his onscreen feud with Punk. Additionally, Drew was actively being advertised for June's Clash at the Castle PLE, which takes place in Glasgow, Scotland. Unless a new deal is struck, McIntyre won't be under contract for that show.

It's almost unconscionable to think that a major star who is seemingly tied into so many upcoming plans was left twisting on a contract that expires in the next month-plus. Fightful indicated that WWE sources have said McIntyre has been professional in handling the situation despite the late movement on his contract.

Although he's quite active on social media via his trolling gimmick, McIntyre has not commented publicly on his contract situation.
