Double J is here to stay.

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett made a shock return in the 2019 Royal Rumble, though he was quickly eliminated by fellow songsmith Elias, eating a guitar shot in the process.

Double J followed this with an appearance on last night's Raw, during which he and Road Dogg dueted "With My Baby Tonight." Another beatdown followed, and it looks like further appearances might be on the cards for Jarrett, who Bill Apter's 1Wrestling.com claim has signed a new contract with the company.

Jarrett's new role will see him work primarily as a backstage producer. PW Insider have confirmed this, and added that Jeff will also make intermittent appearances as an on-camera talent.

He joins former TNA colleagues Abyss and Sonjay Dutt as part of WWE's new-look main roster production team, along with Shane 'Hurricane' Helms, who has rejoined the promotion from Ring Of Honor (per Wrestling Inc.).

Once one of the foremost names on Vince McMahon's blacklist, Jarrett re-entered the WWE Universe via Hall of Fame induction in 2018. He has since spent time with Mexico's AAA, and even won the promotion's Mega Championship, though his WWE deal will presumably put an end to any outside appearances.
