Backstage News On WWE's Plans For Sting Vs Seth Rollins

The thought process behind the shock match-up.

Sting versus Seth Rollins was decided upon just days before SummerSlam, reports PWInsider. With the decision being made only last week, it goes to show how WWE are booking without long term plans right now. The report also states that crew members brought the covered box on Raw to the ring with a forklift truck, and Sting was in there the entire time. It wasn't a case of him clambering up through the ring. It isn't good that WWE are booking angles without long term thought. They clearly never envisioned Sting going for a title when they jobbed him out to Triple H at WrestleMania 31. That history is now undermining the current story, with many fans puzzled that Sting has been given a title match after just one match which was a loss. It also doesn't add up that Triple H was the one who granted the title shot, given that he and Sting are supposed to be enemies. The lack of long term thought process was also evident in SummerSlam's Undertaker versus Brock Lesnar storyline. WWE brought their most revered character back and had him acting like a heel, which is totally at odds with his usual persona. With WWE creative making storylines up as they go along, quite literally anything is possible at the minute. They are taking some big risks in hope of short term gains with the Network subscribers, but in the long term they are possibly booking themselves into a corner.
