Having been off WWE TV since his August 26th defeat to Ricochet in a first round King of the Ring match, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter now has a major update on the status of Drew McIntyre.

After discovering an issue during a recent promotional tour of Mexico, McIntyre had to undergo surgery on an undisclosed medical problem that’s said to have not been bone or muscle related. Upon WWE officials making the former NXT Champion visit a doctor after returning from Mexico, the doctor rushed Drew into surgery just three hours later.

Not only that, however, for the Scottish Psychopath had also been extremely sick even before the surgery. Believing he simply had the flu and was a little run down, McIntyre just kept his head down and continued to work his usual schedule. Up until that Ricochet match, that is. According to WON, Drew was so sick on the day of that Raw bout that he could barely get himself out of bed.

By all accounts, Drew McIntyre has put all of this behind him and is now ready to return back to the ring any day now – even as soon as Monday’s Raw broadcast.

Plenty in WWE are said to be extremely high on McIntyre, and he could well be in for a major push throughout the rest of the year and as we head towards WrestleMania season.
