Backstage Update On Samoa Joe's WWE Status

What next for the Destroyer?

Samoa Joe Seth Rollins

Samoa Joe made a huge impact upon debuting on last week's WWE Raw. The former NXT Champion hopped the barricade and destroyed Seth Rollins after Triple H had lured him to ringside, and the show closed with him kneeling ominously over an unconscious Architect. Joe was immediately placed at the heart of one of WWE's biggest storylines, but it fell apart hours later.

Rollins injured his surgically reconstructed knee during the confrontation, and is now set to mess 6-8 weeks of television. This has prompted WWE to reshuffle their plans, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter have an update on Joe's current status.

According to the report, Joe will soon start working WWE live events with the Raw brand. He was originally set to wrestle Rollins on these shows, but that is obviously off the table now, and their scheduled match on March 5th's Fastlane pay-per-view is almost certainly out of the question too.

There's no word on how or if WWE will resume the Joe vs. Rollins storyline when Seth returns, or if Rollins will make it to WrestleMania 33 for his final battle with Triple H. Tonight's Raw should hopefully provide a clearer idea of where this story is heading.
