Backstage Update On The Rock Vs Triple H At WWE WrestleMania 32

Latest on WWE's plans with The Rock.

The Rock versus Triple H is still pencilled in as the main event of WWE WrestleMania 32, Dave Meltzer has stated on Wrestling Observer Radio. There had been speculation that WWE were thinking about Rock going one on one with Brock Lesnar, as 'The Beast' is no longer scheduled to face The Undertaker on the April 3rd 2016 show. A match between Lesnar and Stone Cold Steve Austin is also ruled out. But as of last week, Hunter and Rock is still the main event. If Ronda Rousey had been available, it may have been Rock and Rousey versus Triple H and Stephanie. However, Rousey has been ruled out due to a movie shoot she's working in Indonesia next spring. The plan for The Rock and Triple H goes all the way back to a segment they did on a Smackdown last October. They then went even further in a heated segment at WrestleMania 31. It does make sense, in that they're two of the biggest stars in WWE history. It should also rouse some old Attitude Era fans into ordering WWE Network, given that Rock and Hunter were two of the biggest stars in 1999 and 2000. However, there's also a suggestion of ego in Triple H making himself the main event of WrestleMania and taking a slot against such a huge star. There'll also be a sense of resentment in the WWE locker room at Rock just swanning in and taking the best paid berth at next year's possible 100,000 seater show.
