Batista Confirmed As Mr Hinx In James Bond 24

The film will be called Spectre.

Dave Batista has been confirmed for a starring role in James Bond 24. The actor was revealed at a special Bond 24 unveiling in London this morning. The official Bond Twitter then tweeted a photo of Batista saying "David Bautista as Mr Hinx." That confirms earlier speculation that Batista would be playing Hinx, a heavy handed villain who will go up against Bond. It is expected that the main villain will be Christoph Waltz, who was at the unveiling but didn't have his character revealed. It is speculated that Waltz will be playing Blofeld. Director Sam Mendes stated that the new film will be called "Spectre" and is due for release on November 6th 2015. Batista's wrestling career is presumably over. He returned to WWE for a few months earlier this year, but failed to connect with wrestling audiences. He had a great match at WrestleMania 30 against Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton, in addition to stellar pay per view matches against The Shield. However, he was clearly unhappy at how his wrestling work went unappreciated by fans. Then came the success of Guardians Of The Galaxy, which established his name as a Hollywood superstar. To follow up with a Bond film is a huge deal for the 45 year old actor. It is also expected that he'll take part in a Guardians sequel. He has definitely made it as an actor and has presumably now retired from the WWE. However, with Batista's celebrity higher than it ever has been, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is certain to be keen for the former champion to return. The WWE will be keenly aware that Batista's wider appeal could translate into increased pay per view sales / WWE Network subscriptions. It will be interesting to see if WWE can convince Batista to return for one off specials like The Rock.
