Batista Tells Titus O'Neil To Quit WWE Over McMahon Incident

Backstage update as WWE decide to reduce Titus' suspension.

Dave Batista advised Titus O'Neil to ask for his release following the incident with Vince McMahon this week. WWE suspended Titus for grabbing the chairman, which many fans viewed as a harsh penalty for what looked like a playful moment. Batista is a friend and neighbour of Titus, so a fan tweeted him to see if he could smooth things over with Vince. However, Batista replied "I did something better! I called @TitusONeilWWE and told him to ask to be released. #onelife." For his part, Titus has indicated that he'll be taking his punishment. He's being humble about it on his social media, despite perhaps having grounds for an appeal. Maybe he figures it is better to play the political game, sit out his heat and then come back to normal later in the year. The latest news from backstage, is that the suspension has been reduced from 90 days to 60 days. That still costs Titus the significant pay day at WrestleMania. There's no reason given for the reduction, but it is possible that WWE realised 90 days was way too harsh for what was just a playful grab. It had looked like Titus was just trying to recreate McMahon's hug with Daniel Bryan. Obviously the chairman didn't appreciate the joke.
