Becky Lynch Won't Work Twice At WWE Royal Rumble 2020

Longtime WWE Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch is currently scheduled to defend her championship against Asuka at Royal Rumble 2020.

According to Cageside Seats, the Irish Lass-Kicker is not currently expected to work twice at the show as she did last time out, meaning she will not be appearing in the eponymous 30-woman over-the-top-rope battle whatever the result of her singles contest.

At 2019's edition, Becky Lynch was defeated by the same opponent for the SmackDown Women's strap on the card's opener. Despite the defeat, she finagled her way into the Rumble match later in the night by sweet-talking Dave Finlay, going on to win the whole thing.

She subsequently took both Raw and SmackDown titles in WrestleMania 35's main event.

The rumours suggest that, although Becky could very well head to WrestleMania as champion, she won't be challenging for any titles this time out. Obviously, that means we'll have a different winner of this year's titular event as well.

With Lynch expected to head to WrestleMania 36 as champion, the working theory is that she'll therefore beat Asuka at Royal Rumble - though that's not guaranteed. There are plenty of bumps in the road between now and April, afterall.
