"Big Plans" For WWE Money In The Bank 2019 Revealed
After a poor last couple of years, things are set to change...
WWE have "big plans" for the winner of this year's men's Money in the Bank ladder match, according to @WrestleVotes on Twitter.
Allegedly, the WWE creative team have been seriously pushing the idea that they need to have the 2019 men's MITB briefcase holder look like a real star at the end of the process.
Backstage, the feeling is that the company has "completely blown" how they handled the winners and their subsequent cash-ins over the past couple of years, and that is something they want to fix in 2019.
There was a great deal of anticipation surrounding Braun Strowman becoming 'Monster in the Bank' last year, but WWE used him as a distraction at SummerSlam to put the Universal Championship on Roman Reigns, and when he eventually did cash-in on Reigns, the match ended in a No Contest due to interference from Brock Lesnar.
2017's briefcase holder was handled even worse; Baron Corbin constantly teased cashing in to become world champion, but when he did on an episode of SmackDown Live in August, he distracted himself with John Cena, and got rolled up and pinned by WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in seconds.
WWE clearly have far bigger plans for the winner of this year's 'Money in the Bank' event, which takes place on May 19th.
