Big WWE Evolution Match Changed

Two matches have become one.

Evolution Mickie James Trish Stratus

Two previously announced matches for the upcoming WWE Evolution pay-per-view have been bolted together into one big tag tussle, following a contrived set-up on Monday Night Raw.

The bouts scheduled to see Trish Stratus and Lita take on Alexa Bliss and Mickie James respectively have been combined so that the legends will now meet the current roster heels. The switch was made last night when Bliss and James barged in on a wooden Stratus promo, with a bout of verbal bickering eventually leading to James suggesting both she and her nefarious partner batter the Hall of Famer in Uniondale. Stratus reckoned that was no biggie, but announced Lita as a tag partner just so it would be less of a hassle.

It's not known at this time why WWE have decided to alter the bout just three weeks before the show, but it may relate to an arm injury suffered by Alexa Bliss at last month's Hell in a Cell show. She was replaced by Ember Moon during the Mixed Match Challenge, and hasn't yet returned to the ring. Whatever the reason, the enlarged match is likely to be a touch better than the two singles.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
