Big WWE Hall of Fame 2012 Inductee To Be Announced on RAW Tonight?

With tickets for the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame going on sale to the general public this Saturday, January 14th, it is expected that the biggest inductee for this year's class will be announced on tonight's WWE Monday Night RAW from Baton Rouge. Usually the Monday before the tickets go on sale is when the Hall of Fame announcements begin to be made and tonight is expected to be no different. The two candidates who are being spoken of the loudest for this year's Hall of Fame are The Rock and Macho Man Randy Savage and there is a feeling that this year a big name will be inducted. The WWE are using the American Airlines Arena for the ceremony this year, a large venue the likes of which they have only used for big names like Steve Austin, Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels. The late Randy Savage and The Rock would certainly come under this banner. Macho Man is routinely rumoured to be inducted this time every year but with Vince McMahon not wanting much to do with Savage since he left the WWE for WCW in the mid 90's (and yes, we have all heard the rumours as to why!), Savage is still absent from the Hall of Fame and his name being missing is glaring. Of course Randy Savage sadly passed in May and there has been a huge nostalgia for his career with the WWE audience and superstars such as CM Punk giving nods to him on television to the point where if there is ever a time for when he is going to be inducted it would be now. Unless of course Vince runs out of what he perceives to be genuine big name candidates. In the case of The Rock, usually the WWE hates to induct 'active wrestlers' and they weren't putting HBK or Ric Flair in until they were to have their retirement matches. The build up for The Rock vs. John Cena big money marquee match at this year's event has not been promoted like a retirement match for The Rock and he is such a young, fit athlete that he could do a match at a big show anytime he wants for the rest of this decade. So putting The Rock in the Hall of Fame at this point would be an unsual McMahon tactic but then The Rock is anomaly and he would certainly fill that arena, especially with it being in his home town of Miami. Actually the more you think about, the more it is likely to be The Rock. Other candidates include Mick Foley (who has certainly been spoken of lately but Vince isn't fully set on the idea and certainly not as the main candidate) and The Undertaker, but the latter again is not expected to have his retirement match this year and his induction will come at whatever WrestleMania that ends up being whether it be next year or the year after. Tickets for the WWE Hall of Fame 2012 go on sale this Saturday priced from $41.40 to $93.65. Mexican legend Mil Mascaras has already announced as an inductee this year but he will not be seen by McMahon as the big name induction of the year.
