After a short spell on the sidelines following the indefinite leave of action of his tag team partner, the quite literally 'Broken' Matt Hardy, Bray Wyatt made an unannounced return at last night's WWE Starrcade event.

Any hopes of a reinvention for the tired Wyatt character were dashed, as he subbed in for the injured Braun Strowman during the show, looking just as dreadlocked and culty as ever. He defeated Baron Corbin after the Raw Sheriff issued an open challenge in lieu of facing the 'Monster Amongst Men'. After the contest, Elias and Finn Bálor joined Wyatt to lay the boot into the downed Corbin. Poor chap.

As announced on WWE's official website, Wyatt's comeback contest is not expected to air on the WWE Network edit of the show tomorrow. The full line-up for the mini special is as follows:

- AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe in a Steel Cage Match

- Sasha Banks, Bayley, Ember Moon & Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax, Tamina, Alicia Fox & Mickie James

- Miz TV starring Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Mysterio

- Finally (brilliantly), a live Elias concert alongside WWE Hall of Famer and hip-hop legend Ric Flair.

WWE Starrcade airs tonight at 8 ET/5 PT on the WWE Network.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
