Bret Hart Wants Owen Hart In WWE Hall Of Fame Next Year

Plus he covered a lot of other subjects: Hogan, Punk, Owens and more!

Bret Hart took part in a Periscope chat with TSN's Off The Record where he answered fan questions for 16 minutes. As always, he was very opinionated about a number of subjects, including his late brother Owen Hart being inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame. "I'm hoping next year at WrestleMania that he'll be inducted and I'll be really sorely disappointed if he's not. It's really overdue." He said he was looking forward to the Owen Hart DVD that will be released in December, but that it was too controlled and that WWE had to tip-toe around things so they didn't offend Owen's widow Martha Hart. Bret thinks that Martha has made an ass of herself and it has pissed him off because she has tried to erase his legacy. He spoke about how people should remember Owen fondly, that wrestlers should talk about what he meant to them and that Owen's kids should hear those stories. He said that Martha can't get over what happened and you can't just erase the good things about somebody.
Later in the discussion, Bret said if Owen isn't inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame next year, he won't attend another ceremony until he's inducted with Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart as the Hart Foundation. He also thinks the British Bulldogs and Demolition should be Hall of Famers too. He'd love to see WWE induct the whole Hart Foundation group of him, Owen, Bulldog, Brian Pillman and Neidhart together as well. Some other things Bret said in the discussion: - Kevin Owens is his favorite current wrestler. He also didn't consider him a fat guy like some people do. - He misses CM Punk in wrestling and has a lot of respect for him. - He said "let's hope not" to the idea of Hulk Hogan coming back to WWE. He said he didn't remember Hogan being a racist, though. He called Hogan a "phony piece of s**t" later. - Wrestlers he keeps in touch with are Steve Austin, CM Punk, Natalya, Tyson Kidd and The Bella Twins. He misses Roddy Piper because they were very close. - He praised Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins for being great wrestlers, but said Rollins made a mistake in busting Cena's nose with his knee and you can't be doing stuff like that. - He said he thinks his match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 12 was his best, but his WrestleMania 13 match with Steve was a piece of art. - He thinks Brock Lesnar's an awesome wrestler and he's really impressed with some of his recent matches. He mentioned Daniel Bryan as wrestling Lesnar, but that hasn't happened so he might have got confused there. He said Lesnar has "won me over" and loves watching him. - His favourite time in wrestling was the story he did in 1997 with the Canada/US feud.
