Chris Jericho Hints At Being Done With WWE

The question remains, will his latest sabbatical be temporary or permanent?

It€™s been speculated for some time that Chris Jericho€™s latest run with WWE would be coming to an end at Night of Champions. Jericho has only been back with the company since June of this year and has been embroiled in a feud with Bray Wyatt ever since. Initially, it seemed that their rivalry was set to conclude at the Night of Champions pay-per-view, however, WWE made the decision to feature the feud-ending cage match between the two on this week€™s Raw. The match was the opening bout of the broadcast and was used as an attempt to garner viewers away from the premiere edition of the NFL€™s Monday Night Football program. Following the bout -- which Bray Wyatt won -- Jericho was attacked by Randy Orton, setting up a match between the two for the September 21st PPV. Now, Jericho has taken to Twitter to hint at his departure following the event. Jericho tweeted, €œSo you weren€™t sure about watching Night of Champions? Guess your mind is changed now, huh? #LastHurrah.€ While it€™s been widely known that Jericho would again be departing the company following the PPV, it€™s now being speculated that this could be an indication of a much longer sabbatical than usual. Y2J has become known for his frequent but brief runs with WWE in the past few years. Prior to his latest stint, Jericho had a run with the company in 2013 -- most notably putting Fandango over in the superstar€™s debut match at WrestleMania 29. He then stuck around for a few more months and became engaged in various lackluster feuds. Fans were chomping at the bit with Jericho€™s most recent return, as the feud with Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family was expected to be something special. Instead, the two have seemingly struggled with the rivalry, as they just do not seem to click when it comes to in-ring competition. This is perhaps why WWE decided to suddenly end the feud on Raw and move Jericho into a match with Orton. Furthermore, nothing can be definitively determined from Jericho€™s €œlast hurrah€ tweet. While it could be an indication that Y2J€™s in-ring career is winding down, nothing has been confirmed. Rather, this could be just another instance of Jericho working the fans, as he has been known to do before. Regardless, Jericho is likely to be gone from WWE for at least a short while following the Night of Champions PPV on September 21st.
