CM Punk: 12 Conspiracy Theories That It's All Been A Work For WWE Raw In Chicago

In 2011 the WWE and CM Punk pulled off one of the greatest worked shoots of all time. The reverberations of the 'Pipe Bomb' led to WWE having a new main event star and landed CM Punk a 434 day title reign. He may have lost that belt at the start of 2013 but he then went on to top level feuds with Rock, Undertaker, Jericho and Brock Lesnar. The last year has hardly been a bad one for CM Punk. Despite being a consistently booked top level star on WWE cards, he walked out on WWE the night after Royal Rumble 2014, reportedly due to either creative frustration or burnout issues. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer stated that this 'quitting' was legitimate and it was unknown if Punk would ever return. What probably happened was Punk got upset that he wasn't getting the chance to close Wrestlemania 3o and was further aggravated when Daniel Bryan replaced him in a planned match with Triple H for Mania. Left with a possible undercard Mania match against Kane or Sheamus, Punk instead left. The issue has split fans. As a popular babyface, it was inevitable that fans sided with Punk. Despite leaving the company in the lurch on Raw and only having 4 months to run on his contract, many fans are critical of WWE in the situation and are demanding that they facilitate Punk's return on the March 3rd Raw from his hometown of Chicgao. The problem is, it was Punk who walked out. WWE have really had little they can do and neither side has yet passed meaningful comment. However, what if it was all a work? That question has been resounding ever since the walkout occurred. Some fans just can't believe that a top star has left like in this manner with a deafening silence over why. The lack of an explanation from either WWE or Punk has led to forums and social media coming up with their own explanations €” built around the notion that the whole thing is a work. If this is the case then the storyline will come to a head this Monday on Raw, fans indicating that the Chicago event is the perfect story location for the heroic return of CM Punk in his hometown. With speculation heading into Monday now at fever pitch, this feature will take a look at 12 Conspiracy theories that the CM Punk walkout was a work built with Chicago in mind...
