CM Punk: "I'm Done With Professional Wrestling"

Former WWE Champion closes door on wrestling return.

CM Punk Annoyed
WWE

CM Punk revealed in an interview with MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani earlier this week that no professional wrestling organisation has made him an offer since leaving WWE in 2014, sparking speculation that he was interested in a return.

Yesterday, the former 'Voice Of The Voiceless' shot those rumours down. Speaking to TSN's Aaron Bronsteter, Punk stated: "I said a bunch of stuff about wrestling, about how I'd never gotten a true offer. This doesn't mean I want to wrestle. I'm done, I'm done, I'm done with professional wrestling."

Bronsteter posted a snippet from the interview to his Twitter account:-

As is always the case whenever someone who has spent any length of time in the wrestling business speaks on such topics, Punk's words should be taken with caution. While he has continually denied any interest in returning, if a comeback is on his mind, it's likely something he'd want to keep to himself.

Punk has been heavily linked with an appearance at the upcoming All In event on September 1 in recent weeks. He'll compete against Mike Jackson at UFC 225 this weekend, and claims he's dedicated to continuing his mixed martial arts career regardless of the result.
