CM Punk Responds To UFC Fighter's "Gay Jesus" Comment

Punk is having a little fun on Twitter in response to Yoel Romero's flub.

Saturday night at UFC Fight NIght 70 in Florida, UFC middleweight and Cuban Olympic medalist Yoel Romero earned the biggest win of his career, knocking former champion Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida out in the third round with some nasty elbows. Romero, elated, immediately jumped the octagon wall, but was corralled and brought back in for the customary post-fight interview. That was when things turned south. In the interview, Romero, who speaks broken English and normally uses a translator, appeared to address the SCOTUS decision legalizing gay marriage in America, stating
What happened to you, USA? What happened to you? What's going on? You forget the best of the best of the world, the name of Jesus Christ. What happened to you? What come, USA? Go back for you, go! Go for Jesus, no for gay Jesus!
Now, there are some who are claiming that, due to his accent, Romero was actually trying to say "don't forget Jesus" - but it's unclear what he would be referencing, other than the gay marriage decision. Social media immediately exploded with reaction to the comments being extremely negative. Romero would later try to clarify the comments, but the clarification did little to actually explain what he actually said.
First of all, I would like to apologize €” there was a misunderstanding. First of all, I€™m a man of God and God is love. My expressions are always going to be about love. What I was trying to say was, €˜Look for the American Dream.€™ There was a misunderstanding about gay marriage.
It seems one person who isn't buying the explanation/apology is CM Punk. Punk took to Twitter to respond, posting a number of tongue-in-cheek photos and statements about "gay Jesus." https://twitter.com/CMPunk/status/615024552117059584 https://twitter.com/CMPunk/status/615030553335631873 And of course, this Daniel Bryan photoshop came up: https://twitter.com/CMPunk/status/615033314538188800 https://twitter.com/CMPunk/status/615041310769049600 In using the LoveWIns hashtag, it's clear which side of the fence Punk falls on. It's also interesting to note that, depending on how his weight cutting goes, Punk could actually be in the middleweight division alongside Romero - though he is nowhere near the top 10 ranked fighter's level and it's unlikely they would ever meet. Punk was actually asked about fighting Romero on Twitter, and aside from the fact that it would be the UFC version of a one-sided squash match, he replied, tongue in cheek, saying "Smart fight is gay Jesus. He's not a silver medalist". Punk's most pointed statement, however, might actually be this, posted shortly after the incident https://twitter.com/CMPunk/status/615027884546093057
