CM Punk Says He Could Return To Wrestling?

Never say never, because Punk could pop up someday.

CM Punk was a guest on ESPN’s Russillo and Kanell show today, and was asked if he’ll ever step back in a wrestling ring.

His answer was...somewhat encouraging?

No, I don't think so. But it is one of those "never say never" things. I like to cover all my bases, just so some internet dweeb is going to be like, 'you said you'd never wrestle again!' But WWE? No. Absolutely not. But you never know, I could pop up here and there.

“Here and there” is probably good enough news for his large and devoted fanbase. The possibility of him ever showing up in ROH or a Lucha Underground would obviously be a tremendous boost to either company, even if it was just as a cameo.

While Punk seems adamant in never stepping foot in a WWE ring again, we only have to look back to The Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart to show that time, and a lot of money, can heal all wounds.

Punk is scheduled for UFC 203, and is determined to make MMA his primary career. However, if that doesn’t go over as well as planned, a return to his first love in professional wrestling, in some form, sounds possible.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
