CM Punk Set To Appear In New WWE Movie

Punk will be appearing in upcoming WWE Studios release.

CM Punk is set to appear in the upcoming WWE Studios film 'Queens Of The Ring'. The movie will be released directly to DVD and digital download on November 11th and also features small parts for The Miz and former WWE Diva Eve Torres. Punk's WWE contract expired back in July of this year, following on from his self imposed exile that started in January. The wrestler left the company on terrible terms, however, his role in Queens Of The Ring was filmed before his exit. Indeed, the movie was produced way back in 2012, as a joint effort between WWE Studios and Kare Productions. The french film is a comedy / drama that centres around a young mother who trains to become a wrestler in hopes of bonding with her estranged son. Punk's role is perhaps going to be another source of contention between the ex-wrestler and WWE. The 35 year old is already unhappy that his former employer is profiting from his name and likeness in WWE 2K15. That resulted in him filing a 22 page legal document in early September, which will look to either stop his image being used or garner royalties for the usage. Dave Meltzer has commented that this action could get ugly, WWE have already pulled all CM Punk merchandise in response and are likely to counter with legal action against Punk's walking off the job. The timing of 'Queen Of The Ring' getting released isn't going to help matters. Once again, CM Punk is featuring in a WWE product and getting linked with his former employer.
