Daniel Bryan Injured With A Concussion

Bryan suffered concussion in Sheamus match two weeks ago.

Daniel Bryan was sent home from WWE's european tour due to a concussion, reports Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio. This was stemming from the rough Sheamus match that Bryan worked on Smackdown two weeks ago. "He suffered a concussion," Alvarez states, "there's concern he had suffered a concussion in the Sheamus match." However, Alvarez does state that there could be more to the story. If Bryan had suffered a concussion two weeks ago, why was he working for the first week of this tour? Either it wasn't initially diagnosed or there's more to this situation than we know. In some ways, it is good news to hear that the reason for pulling Bryan was just a concussion. That's not to say that a concussion isn't serious, but it certainly isn't as serious as a neck injury. The initial fear, and what could still prove to be the case, is that Bryan's neck issue is bothering him again. If that was the case, his career could be in jeopardy. But with a concussion, he could be back as soon as Extreme Rules. On the other hand, he could end up needing to sit out a while. Only time will tell, as every concussion is different. One thing for sure is that it definitely hurts his standing as a main eventer. Concussion was actually the reason WWE killed Dolph Ziggler's main event aspirations back in 2013. They don't want to invest in guys who are physical liabilities. Sheamus could end up copping some heat if his rough work was indeed the cause for the concussion. Hopefully Bryan is able to make a full recovery and get back to action soon.
