Daniel Bryan Stops Burglary And Detains Perpetrator

Mainstream media outlets have been running with this story ever since it broke.

On Thursday, July 24th, wrestling icon Sting made headlines in the sports entertainment world for his surprise appearance at a Mattel toys panel during the San Diego Comic Con. Also in attendance for that panel were the €œImmortal€ Hulk Hogan, Paul Heyman, and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan. After the SDCC appearance, Bryan flew home to Phoenix, Arizona, where he has been since forfeiting the championship belts he won at WrestleMania XXX due to a neck injury that required surgery. Bryan€™s wife, Brie Bella, picked him up from the airport and the couple returned to their home in the Arcadia neighbourhood of Phoenix on Thursday. As they pulled into their carport, the couple noticed the front door to their house was open. As anyone who has watched €œTotal Divas€ will attest too, Daniel Bryan and Brie are the proud owners of an adorable French Bulldog named Josie. Fearing for Josie€™s safety - who was left at the home during the short trip to and from the airport - the couple ran inside. As Brie searched for Josie - who she found safely hiding in the bathroom - Daniel saw two burglars flee out the back door and instinctually gave chase, pursuing one of the suspects down an alley before taking him down and subduing him with a rear naked choke. In response to a question during a press conference on Friday, Bryan stated that he would not comment on if he put the apprehended burglar to sleep or not. The WWE€™s leader of the YES Movement detained the perpetrator - later identified as Cesar Sosa, 22 - until police arrived. In all, it seems Bryan held onto Sosa for about five minutes, as neighbours had already called police about the suspicious activity at the residence prior to Bryan and Brie arriving. During the aforementioned Friday press conference, Daniel Bryan also discussed his neck injury, which, luckily, was not aggravated or exacerbated by the incident. Furthermore, in detailing the events that took place, Bryan made mention of a jewellery box that one of the burglars dropped as they fled the scene. That box contained an object of great sentimental value to Bryan, which was evident by his tearing up while discussing it. Inside was a bracelet given to him by his father who recently passed away, just days after WrestleMania and Bryan€™s wedding to Brie. The bracelet had an inscription that said, €œTo the man that you€™ve become and the son that you€™ll always be.€ The obviously cherished item was undamaged and is in Bryan's possession. Outside of a broken door, it seems that nothing else of value was stolen or damaged, and thankfully, all parties involved are safe. Cesar Sosa was arrested on burglary charges while Phoenix police continue to search for the second perpetrator who got away. Now that this ordeal is over, Daniel Bryan, Brie Bella, and their beloved Josie will hopefully rest well - thanks in to Bryan's efforts and apprehension of one of the criminals.
