On last night’s “Blast from the Past” edition of WWE Smackdown, John Laurinaitis granted Daniel Bryan a World Heavyweight Title rematch with Sheamus for the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view. The match was announced as a 2 out of 3 falls encounter and was a surprising decision as it looked like WWE were setting up Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio previously though this is a much better match-up.
The only other match set for the Extreme Rules PPV is John Cena vs Brock Lesnar which will likely be the main event.
Given how their feuds seem to be continuing it is likely another CM Punk vs Chris Jericho match for the WWE Title will take place, a rematch for the IC Title between Cody Rhodes and The Big Show and another bout between Randy Orton vs Kane. These would all be WrestleMania re-matches.
WWE Extreme Rules PPV takes place from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on April 29th, 2012.

At least we’ll get a minimum of 36 seconds of action…
Sheamus is such a lame champion and I can’t believe they’re trying to push him as hard as they are, even getting the legends to praise him in the ring. Daniel Bryan is way better and much more entertaining as a heel champ. I hope the crowd fully behind YES YES YES will strip the boring Sheamus of his title, or maybe Daniel Bryan can move to Raw, as it’d be way more cool to see him face guys like CM Punk and Jericho anyway.
