Daniel Bryan told Sports Illustrated this week that he will know his WWE future by the time WrestleMania 34 rolls around in April.

The SmackDown General Manager was talking as he signed autographs and dropped the puck on a Springfield Thunderbirds ice hockey game, and he didn't mince his words when discussing a possible return to the ring sometime soon.

Bryan believes he will know where he stands if WWE don't offer him a match in New Orleans. His very words were, "I assume that if I don’t wrestle by WrestleMania, I probably won’t be wrestling with WWE at all".

Whilst desperate to step back between the ropes and do what he does best, Daniel is also mindful of the complications WWE must sort through before clearing him. At the same time, his frustration has been evident through comments on social media and in various interviews since last year.

There's no doubt about it, Bryan wants to work matches, not put on a suit jacket and act as an on-air character. Do his latest comments suggest a WWE return is closer than ever before, and on the grand stage of 'Mania no less?
