Even since Seth Rollins lost the WWE Championship to Dean Ambrose at Money in the Bank, "The Architect" has been telling anyone who will listen that he wants a one-on-one match with Ambrose for the title. Though The Shield triple threat match at Battleground hasn't been changed, Rollins will get what he wants in the main event of next week's episode of Raw.

The match was made during the first episode of The Rollins Report, a Rollins-led talk show that saw the two-time WWE Champion mock the suspended Roman Reigns with a cleverly-edited video. Following the humorous insult, Ambrose confronted Rollins, calling him out for his whiny behavior and entitled attitude. He finally decided to shut Rollins up by granting him the bout. "The Architect" teased a fight right then and there, but he ultimately decided to wait seven days before his title shot.

The title match is a huge main event for next week's Raw, which will be the last one to feature the entire WWE roster. The following evening, the debut of the live Smackdown will see the superstars split across brand lines, with the extension going into effect following Battleground.

WWE is clearly trying to close out the current era with a bang, as well as avoid a continuation of Raw's recent ratings woes.
