Multiple sources have been trying to figure out what happened to Drew McIntyre on last night's post-WrestleMania SmackDown special.
McIntyre teamed with The Bar in the show's main event to face The New Day, but seemed to disappear following a commercial break. A correspondent (who was at the event) for Lords Of Pain may have the best scoop. He noted that Drew tagged out during the ads, walked around ringside for a bit then strolled down the aisle and backstage.
According to the correspondent, McIntyre didn't walk up the ramp and disappear through the curtain. Instead, he took that little path to the side of the staging that twists round the set.
It's all speculation for now, but fans in attendance guess the big Scot was injured during the match and retreated backstage instead of exacerbating things further. His departure left Sheamus and Cesaro alone to finish things with all three New Day members.
This would be a major setback for McIntyre. Coming off his loss to Roman Reigns at 'Mania, there were hopes that he'd receive a major push, possibly even on SmackDown.
