Drew McIntyre Suffers Potential Torn Biceps At NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Scot seemingly hurt in NXT title clash.

Defending NXT champion Drew McIntyre may have suffered a torn biceps at the conclusion of his title match opposite Andrade "Cien" Almas during last night's NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Speaking in the after-show postmortem, company COO Triple H mentioned that the outgoing champ will undergo an MRI scan tomorrow to assess the possible damage, and if the worst case scenario is confirmed, will undergo surgery as soon as next week.

The damage seemingly occurred at the finish of the match, following a dangerous top-turnbuckle DDT from the challenger to the Ayrshire giant. McIntyre clutched the top rope as Almas drove him to the canvas, uncomfortably dragging his arm in the process.

In the immediate aftermath of the match, a clearly beleaguered Drew was seen clutching his injured limb, as a WWE medic engaged in grave conversation. It's not believed the mid-match misstep had any bearing on the outcome.

In addition to Triple H's comments, McIntyre himself also commented on the possible injury in a post-show promo, noting that he doesn't currently know the full details, but that it doesn't look promising. Check back for more details on this story as they emerge.
