Former AEW Star Returning To The Company

This former AEW star will once again be #AllElite.

Having departed the company when his prior deal expired at the turn of the year, QT Marshall is returning to AEW.

As per Fightful Select, Marshall will once again be #AllElite, although in a slightly different capacity to his previous run the company.

Before officially exiting AEW on 31 December 2023, QT served as an in-ring talent and Vice President of Creative and Talent. For his return, the former QTV man will be solely operating in that VP role, with no plans for him to wrestle.

An agreement for QT Marshall's return was put in place a couple of weeks ago, although he has not started back with AEW as of yet. And while AEW won't be using QT as an in-ring talent, he is free to wrestle for outside promotions, with the obvious exception of WWE.

Where it comes to Marshall's initial run with AEW, that came to an end due to a few factors. Interestingly, one of those factors was that the 38-year-old wanted to wrestle rather than just be part of the front office and act as a trainer. Elsewhere, the New Jersey native also took umbrage with the creative direction the company was taking, with him under the belief that a more entertainment-based approach was needed, rather than simply putting on great matches that are expected to tell a story. On top of that, CM Punk didn't want Marshall to be a part of AEW Collision, with Punk believing the whole QTV schtick had a negative impact on the presentation of Powerhouse Hobbs. Tony Khan took responsibility for cancelling these segments, although QT was said to be frustrated at the lack of transparency on this matter.

Whatever issues existed before between the two parties, clearly they've been ironed out. It's also worth noting that QT Marshall and Teil Rhodes - the daughter of Dusty, sister of Dustin and Cody - recently relaunched Dusty Rhodes' Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling. That resurrected promotion ran its first TV tapings on 8 February, with names like QT, Matt Cardona, Aaron Solo, Scotty Riggs, and Glacier all in action.
