Goldberg Was Knocked Out At WWE Super ShowDown

Big Bill says he let fans down after being knocked silly in Saudi Arabia.

Goldberg had a pretty rocky time during his match with The Undertaker at yesterday's WWE Super ShowDown, enduring some wince-inducing, buttock-clenching moments as the 106-year-old pair stumbled through a sloppy encounter. After the match, the losing participant revealed that he had been knocked out during the contest:

"Knocked myself out and thought I could finish.... love my fans.....but let u down. Everyone else that found 'pleasure' ..... hope ur happy."

Before the bell had even been rung, Goldberg looked hurt, walking to the ring with a gash on his forehead - presumably from psyching himself up at the expense of a door. Shortly into the match, Big Bill was whipped head first into a ring post, causing his already damaged bonce to gush open.

There was another scary situation when The Undertaker spiked Goldberg's head into the canvas with a vicious, AJPW-style Tombstone, which was hideously reminiscent of the piledriver which broke Steve Austin's neck at SummerSlam '97.

The pair groggily fumbled through, as Goldberg dropped 'Taker head first on a Jackhammer attempt, and a a Tombstone reversal spot ended with both men tumbling to the ground.

Shortly afterwards, a Chokeslam put paid to the clearly struggling Hall of Famer.

Hopefully, there's no long-term damage to Goldberg, and with any luck he'll recover just fine after allowing his undoubtedly achy body a few day's rest.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
